Notes - BIRTHDAY: Info from the Glengarry News, 10 Jan 2001, pg. 6, Maxville col.:
90th birthday
On Dec. 23, a very enjoyable party was held at the Chieftain Restaurant to honour an Ottawa resident who lived in this area for many years and who was celebrating her 90th birthday.
The family of Kay Kippen MacRae assembled that evening to honour their mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and to have a very pleasant reunion.
Mrs. MacRae enjoys very good health and is able to lead an active life-style in Ottawa. Her daughters are Connie, Myrna and Beverly, while Shirley died last year. Her only son is best known as Sonny but he will also answer to Robert.
About 50 guests saw the celebrant presented with the usual citations from politicians and a highlight was a video that had been made from photographs going way back. And naturally, there was lots of reminiscing.
Mrs. MacRae has one remaining sister, Mary McMillan, in Peterborough. Her husband by her first marriage was Donald Kippen, who died many years ago, and second ws the late Grant MacRae.
We wish this lady continued good health and a very happy future for as long as possible.
