In the Auld Lang Syne column of the Glengarry News, Wed. July 28, 2010, pg. B7; for 90 Years Ago, Fri. July 20, 1920, is the following:
Thomas Blaney, a prosperous farmer near Maxville, and son, William, 14 were killed, and his wife, one son and a nephew were seriously injured when a car in which they were driving was hit by the Montreal-Ottawa CNR train two miles east of Maxville, at eight o'clock Tuesday evening. - (Research):Found in the 1901 Census, I -2, page 11, no kids yet. Two doors away is Charles Blaney, b. 10 Jan 1866, and his family. Probably a brother. The next family is James Blaney, b. 23 Jun 1868 and his family. Also found George Blaney, b. 24 May 1867, and his family next. Must all be brothers.
