Notes - in 1865 Donald's 200 acre farm was split. The west 100 acres to Duncan and Annie, the east 100 to Peter and Christena.
Donald may be a brother to Duncan McKercher, father of Robert D. McKercher.
"Maxville: Its Centennial Story 1991" states on page 701: ". . . Duncan McKercher was born in Glen Lyon Perthshire, Scotland in 1807. In 1841 he and his wife, Jennet McLaurin along with others emigrated to Canada, cleared and settled on land on the 10th concession of Roxborough Township.
In the Gordon Church cemetery there is an Elizabeth McKercher born about 1810 who is also a native of Perthshire. She was married to Alexander McGregor. Could be a sister.
Found a baptism at Ancestry for Alex [1834] to "Duncan" McKercher and Margaret Campbell. This was at St Philippe-d' Argenteuil (Church of Scotland). - (Research):Found in the 1851 census in Roxborough. There was Donald and Margaret with three kids still at home; Duncan, Peter and Christine.
